142 km of headwind and one heron.

MAPBOX_TOKEN in .envLeft Aarhus at 04:48 on the slow road north. The plateau opens past Vorupør — gravel turning to packed sand, then back to gravel. The light kept changing its mind for the first three hours and then settled.
A heron, somewhere around km 92. Looked at me, didn’t move.
The last 30 km were a stupid headwind. There’s nothing virtuous about that section of road; you just survive it. Coffee at the Klitmøller petrol station tasted like the reward for a different ride.
Kit
Half-frame bag, top tube bag, two bottles. No bivy — the plan was always to finish by dark. Did, with twelve minutes to spare.
Notes for next time
- Carry the extra tube. The tubeless held but only because nothing sharp found me.
- The Tri-X swap was the right call for the late hour at Hanstholm.
- Eat at km 70, not km 90. Bonking on a headwind section is its own kind of stupid.
